Football player, David Beckham played for legendary franchises: Manchester United, Real Madrid and L.A. Galaxy.
He was middle child between two sisters. His childhood was well spent with his siblings and parents. As a child, he was passionate about football. At an early age of 11, he won Bobby Charlton Soccer School National Skills competition. His skills and talent got noticed and due to which Manchester United chose him to try club’s youth league.
He left home when he was 16 to play for U.K’s training division. He made up to be club member when he was 20. This was when he started his professional career.

Career life of Beckham:

In the year 1997, he was rewarded as the Professional Footballers’ Association Young Player of the Year.
Because of his charming persona and immense talent, he got a lot more opportunity on-the field and off-the field. In the year 1999, this talented superstar led Man United win the Premier League title, FA Championship and Champions League title.
In the year 2002, England band World Cup title and it was the same year when Beckham signed contract with Manchester United, to stay for 3 more years with the franchise (for $22 million).
It was shocking to hear that David Beckham had to leave Man United when there was growing rift of Beckham with Sir Alex Ferguson. Beckham was then transferred to Real Madrid team. He played for this franchise for few years.

It was 2007, when he moved to America. This led him to join L.A. Galaxy franchise. He signed 5 year- $250 million deal with the franchise. His presence dominated the team’s appearance from that of other team. This made L.A. Galaxy sell around 5000 tickets for America’s Major League for that season. However, moving to the U.S.A was difficult journey for him. He got several injuries. He was abstained for playing for World Cup, 2010 because of an Achilles tendon injury.

Retirement of Beckham:

After winning a title with French Club Paris Saint Germain, he announced that he would retire at the end of 2013 season. Playing as a soccer player/ footballer for 21 years, he announced his retirement.

This is what he said at his retirement:

“I wouldn’t have achieved what I have done today without my family. I’m grateful for my parents’ sacrifice, which made me realize my dreams,” Beckham said in a statement. “I owe everything to Victoria and the kids, who have given me the inspiration and support to play at the highest level for such a long period …If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over 100 times and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was a fantasy. I’m fortunate to have realized those dreams.”

Thereafter, he was credited by world’s wealthiest sportsman for $46 million annually.

His charming persona, influenced him to get several off-the field opportunities. Americans got to know about him after the release of the movie “Bend it like Beckham”. This movie pleasantly features how a young girl who bucks her family and falls in love with English soccer.

He also started to get featured in commercials. At the very first, he started with underwear line in H&M Company. This commercial was placed in New York and later on it was also placed in Los Angeles and Sam Francisco.

He was married to Victoria Beckham in 1999. Now they have four children. Three sons: Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz & a daughter: Harper Seven.
According to ‘News of the World’, it was said that he had affair with his PA- Rebecca Loos and model- Sarah Marbeck. But, Beckham denied the rumor.

After the news featured on ‘News of the World’ about David’s affair on other women, nanny claimed that he wanted to split. The rumors brought tears to Victoria’s eyes.
