Anne Jacqueline Hathaway was, born on November 12, 1982, in Brooklyn New York. Her parents are Gerald Thomas Hathaway (lawyer) and Kathleen Ann “Kate” (former actress). Her mother was the one who inspired Hathaway to follow in her footsteps.  Hathaway graduated from Millburn High School, where she participated in many school plays.

At the age of sixteen, Anne Hathaway got her first big break when she was cast as Meghan in the television series ‘Get Real’.

In 2004, Hathaway played the titular character in the romantic comedy fantasy film Ella Enchanted, where she sang two songs as well as three on the soundtrack, including duet with singer Jesse McCartney. She also voiced as Red Puckett in Hoodwinked! And sang the song ‘Great Big World’.

Engagement as philanthropist, activists  

Hathaway contributes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a nonprofit medical corporation leading pediatric treatment and research on children’s catastrophic diseases. She is a women’s rights honoree of both Elle magazine’s “Women in Hollywood” tribute and The Step Up Women’s Network, that is dedicated to connecting and advancing women and girls.

From the age of 15, Hathaway stood up for her brother’s sexual orientation and hence in 2007, spoke at The Human Rights Campaign gala, the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender advocacy group and political action committee in USA.

She announced that she would use the money raised from selling her wedding photos to campaign for gay couples to have the right to wed and for- the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and The Girl Effect.

Achievement and Recognition

In 2012, Anne Hathaway received several awards along with Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards, and Golden Globe Awards for her role in the movie ‘Les Misérables’. The same role also won her awards such as Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. She is also an Oscar Winner 2013 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.

Personal Life

Anne Hathaway developed a romantic relationship with Raffaello Follieri (Italian real estate developer) in 2004, during which she participated in the development of the charitable Follieri Foundation, as a donor and as a member of its board of directors. Their relationship lasted till 2007. In November 2008, she started dating Adam Shulman.

In late November 2015, Hathaway and Shulman announced that they were expecting their first child and on March 24, 2016, she gave birth to their son, Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman.

Alice through the Looking Glass (2016 American fantasy adventure film) is the sequel to the 2010 film Alice in Wonderland. Anne Hathaway is casted as Mirana of Marmoreal, the White Queen. On Rotten Tomatoes the film had an approval rating of 30% based on 225 reviews with an average rating of 4.6/10. The critics cite the movie as ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass is just as visually impressive as its predecessor. But that isn’t enough to cover for an underwhelming story that fails to live up to its classic characters.’

2. Colossal ( schedules to be released on April 7, 2017):

Colossal is a science fiction comedy film. The film casts Anne Hathaway as Gloria. She plays the role of a girl who, after losing her job and boyfriend in New York, moves back to her hometown only to discover how strangely connected she is to an enormous Kaiju attacking South Korea.

1. Anne Hathaway official Anti-Kim Kardashian:

The real reason to interpret that Hathaway is officially anti-Kim Kardashian is because she shared an important message with women all around the world. And it’s the sort of the think Kim would never ever say.

She shared a photo on her social media account of a pair of cut up denim jeans, after giving birth to her first child in March. And she wrote “There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever)”. She also added “There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all).” In other words, Hathaway empowers women with positive body image message.
