Asha Bhosle
Born on September 8, 1933
Facing several adversities in life, Asha has been thoroughly devoted to her career.
Asha and her older sister (Lata) started singing for movies after the death of their father, Deenanath Mangeshkar when Asha was 9 years old. The burden of helping their family (financially) was left in the shoulder of these two sisters. The two sisters were inspired by their father who was a classical musician. Therefore, both of them decided to take up singing as their career.
Asha had innate ability to sing extremely well. This is the reason why she has been able to sing for almost 12000 songs. Starting several decades ago, she has sung in Indian as well as other various languages including Bengali, Gujrati, Tamil, Marathi (which was her mother tongue), English, Malay, and Russian. Her ghazals, bhajans, pop, classic and folk songs has been able to hypnotize the entire world.

The biggest achievement for Asha Bhosle is how her song still enthralls and mesmerizes people. Still today she has the same enthusiasm which she had decades back when it comes to singing.
Wedlock:
Asha tied wed knots two times.
When she was 16, she eloped with Lata’s personal secretary, Ganapatrao. But, this was disastrous marriage for her. She came back to her maternal house with two kids and pregnant with the third child. Splitting up with him made Asha Ji even braver and very much devoted towards her career.
Later on relationship with Rahul Dev Burman resulted in marriage between the two in 1980s. But, this marriage only lasted till Rahul expired.
The most tragic incident:
The most tragic moment for Asha Ji was in 2012 when her daughter Varsha committed suicide.
According to the police report, this incident is still clueless. Even after scrutinizing the incident, nobody is sure why this incident happened. This incident occurred when Asha was in Singapore. It was reported that Varsha shoot herself in the head. It was found out that Varsha had been undergoing psychological treatment when they talked to her close members. This was a complete shock to the family. Even now this incident strikes hardly on Asha Ji.
Is singing only her interest?
Asha Ji says that if she wasn’t a singer, she would take cooking as her full-time career. She has been running restaurants in Dubai, Kuwait and the UK. She further adds up that these restaurants have so far been running up successfully.
