"Arjit Singh has gone way ahead of me, he is not in competition with me", says Shaan

At the music launch of T-series single ‘Tum Ho Toh Lagta Hai’, when questioned about the reason behind singing less Bollywood numbers and if it had anything to do with the competition offered by Arijit, Shaan told IndianExpress.com, “Arijit Singh has gone way ahead. I wouldn’t call him competition at all. He is doing very well. I am happy when a good talent goes ahead and people like him. This is good for music, it is good for all of us.”

Shaan further added, “It’s not that I have become choosy or I am not interested in playback singing but things change with time. There was a time when there were a lot of established singers and all of a sudden audience demand a change. New voices and new trends emerge. I am happy that I have been in this industry for the last 20 years.”

Why Arjit Singh re-dubbed Tum Bin 2 song?

and Muskurane Ki Wajah, felt that is voice due to auxiliary treatment didn't go well with the openness that appeared in the video.

The second installment of the 2001 film Tum Bin series is written and directed by Anubhav and jointly produced by him and Bhushan Kumar of the T-Series music label.

"The song got rave reviews however my good friend Arijit the perfectionist that he is, thought it would be better if he sang it with an open feel. Arijit called me the very same night Ishq Mubarak released and inquired if I would be okay to consider a re-dub on the song," Anubhav said.

"Having a lot of respect for his music and style of working I gave him a go ahead and the new song sounds even better than the first version now," he added.
