Rihanna is a Barbadian singer, songwriter and an actress. She was born in Saint Michael in 20th February in 1988 and was raised in Bridgetown. Her real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. She grew up in three bedroom bungalow in Bridgetown and sold clothes with her father in a stall on the street. Her health began to improve at the age of fourteen after her parents’ divorce. She began singing at the age of seven. And chose to pursue singing


Beginning of her career and achievements:

At her teen age, Rihanna formed a singing group with her two classmates, at the age of 15. At the age of 16 she left Barbados and moved to America and signed with Def  Jam records and in 2005 released her first album ‘music of sun’, which sold two million copies worldwide. And also she continued to release more albums and array of hit songs, which includes, ‘Unfaithful’, ‘Umbrella’, ‘Disturbia’, ‘take a bow’, ‘Diamonds’ and ‘we found love’.

She is the recipient of eight Grammy awards from 24 nominations. Her single ‘umbrella’ earned Rihanna her first Grammy Award in 2008 and she went on to earn several more awards including those for ‘Run This Town’ with Jay-Z & Kanye West in 2010 and ‘Only Girl in the World’ in 2011.  As well as she also won 14 Billboard Music Awards from 49 nominations.

The awards include ‘Female Artist of the Year’ and ‘Pop 100 Artist of the year’ in 2006, ‘Top Female Artist’ in 2011, and ‘Top Radio Songs Artist in 2013. And she also holds the Guinness World Records for female artist with the most U.S. number one singles in year 2010, most consecutive years of UK No.1 singles in 2011, and the Best Selling Digital Artist (U.S.) in 2012.  Also Rihanna’s net worth has grown to $230 million including $70 million she earned in 2016.

Personal life:

Rihanna has made many headlines in her personal life. In 2006 it was rumored that she was having an affair with her mentor Jay-Z.


But after sometime she was romantically involved with the singer Chris Brown but later in 2009, she made headlines, by becoming the center of media firestorm after a domestic violence incident in which her boyfriend,Chris Brown assaulted her before an award show.


And later she was romantically involved with Los Angeles, Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, but they split after sometimes. She also dated Canadian rapper drake. In January 2013, she reconnected with Chris brown again. But again in an interview in May 2013, brown stated that he and Rihanna had again broken up. In 2015, she dated Travis Scott, a rapper from Missouri City, Texas.

As a philanthropist:

Rihanna created Believe foundation to help terminally ill children in 2006 and in 2007. As a result she was named as one of the Cartier love Charity Bracelet Ambassadors, with each celebrity representing a different global charity. She and other public figures designed clothing for the February 2008 H&M Fashion against AIDS line to help raise awareness and combat HIV/AIDS.

In 2012, she founded the ClaraLionel Foundation (CLF) in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. The CLF hosts an annual ‘Diamond Ball’, a charity fundraiser event. The inaugural event in 2014 raised over $2 million, with the second raising over $3 million. On January 3rd, 2014, she was a part of the MAC Viva Glam campaign, which benefits women, men, and children living with HIV/AIDS.
