Wayne RooneyFirst of all, an England Player Wayne Rooney was naturally gifted footballer. He played football since he was a child. He wore a t-shirt written, “Once a blue, Always a blue”. This very phrase famously represented his love towards his hometown. As well as this also conveyed his and team’s (Everton) sense of responsibility & support towards their hometown and team as a whole.

He made his debut at a very early age i.e. at the age of 16 when he played for Premier League (2002). He was nationally recognized when he played for Premier League in the same year and won the title “Youngest Goal Scorer”, he was able to break the record of youngest goal scorer in the history of UEFA European Football Championships, then. After playing for this very team for two more years, he was then eager to move on. At an early age of 20, not to lose an opportunity, he was bought by Alex Ferguson to be a part of Manchester United for 26 million pound.

Playing for England in Euro 2004, he was recognized throughout the world as he spearheaded the English attack (scoring 4 goals).  Playing for England in Euro 2004, Rooney led his team win Swiss Player but was knocked out by Portugal in quarter finals when Rooney was injured.

2006:

Injured in his right foot Rooney after the match against Chelsea on 29th April 2006, he was not allowed to play for at least 6 weeks.

After completion of 6 weeks, doctor let Rooney play for following matches.  On June 20, in final match, his team was able to make draw of 2-2 with Sweden. On June 25, despite failing to play against Ecuador, Rooney left the stage very lively and appeared to be fully fit.

Playing against Portugal in the quarter finals, he along with his team was unable to make good impression. Their offensive tactics was not considered to be good. Despite his effort to play well, Rooney was handed 2 Red cards in this match because he was cantankerous.

2010:

It was disappointing for England. England lost against Germany in the second round of World Cup. Though England was unable to be in consecutive match, Rooney was speculated to be the key performer by others in this season.
